How did America get in an even worst financial mess than we had in the '30s?

By blaming the wrong people. Everyone blames Bush while the Democratic Congress, especially Frank and Dodd, were the real cause. When you place the blame on the wrong party, it's impossible to fix the problem and it continues to fester and get worse as a result.
