Level 3 children and young peoples work force? social care career goal?

I am currently finishing level 2 children and young peoples work force in a nursery and i want to work with older children. can you complete level 3 children and young peoples work force in a school? also i would like to eventually so youth social work, any idea of what direction to go in, qualifications ect? is it a waste of time doing level 3 to do social work? the internet is very confusing so would love some advice on paths i can take. Thanks
